All 42 CCM/USAH AAPG Players Appear on NHL CSS Preliminary Players to Watch List

The National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Service released its preliminary rankings of the top 2015 draft-eligible prospects, and the list features all 42 players skating in the third annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, Thursday (Sept. 25) at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York.

The CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospect Game aims to showcase the top U.S. players leading up to their draft year. The participants of the game are selected by USA Hockey in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.

Included in the preliminary rankings are nine players with an A rating, indicating they have the potential to be selected in the first round of the NHL Entry draft next June: Paul Bittner (Crookston, Minn.), Brandon Carlo (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Kyle Connor (Shelby Towonship, Mich.), possible No. 1 overall pick Jack Eichel (North Chelmsford, Mass.), Jordan Greenway (Canton, N.Y.), Noah Hanifin (Norwood, Mass.), Thomas Novak (River Falls, Wis.), Zach Werenski (Gross Pointe Woods, Mich.) and Colin White (Boston, Mass.).

The 2014 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game airs on NHL Network Thursday (Sept. 25) at 7 p.m ET. Live updates are available by following @USAHockeyScores and live scoring is available on USAHockey.com.

Notes: Head coaches Eddie Olczyk and Mike Grier will drop a ceremonial first puck as part of the pre-game ... Buffalo Sabres' forward Drew Stafford (Milwaukee, Wis.) will present the Player of the Game award in a post-game, on-ice ceremony. Stafford represented the U.S. as a member of two national junior teams, three men's national teams and an under-18 men's team. Most notably, he was part of the 2004 U.S. National Junior Team that claimed the United States' first gold in World Junior competition  ... This is the second time the First Niagara Center, home of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres is hosting the AAPG. First Niagara last hosted the inaugural game when Team McClanahan beat Team Housley, 5-2.
